What does Daddy do with so many girls?

Lest any of you fear Daddy spends his days playing princesses, dress up and makeup let me share with you how Daddy spends his time with his precious daughters...(mind you, they had to get out of their dressup clothes to do these activities but they quite willingly and quickly did so!!!)

Activity number one: Race cars

E wanted to get Daddy a race car for Father's Day. Initially I thought each girl could pick out a matchbox car and everyone would be happy, until I discovered a cheap remote control one. A closer inspection of the box showed there were two frequencies...two cars would be much more fun than one!! We now have a favorite evening activity that everyone enjoys. E and Mg love to chase them (or be chased by them!) and are starting to learn to drive them and M is getting quite good at getting around the loop outside our apartment!

(E is making a tunnel for M's car to go through)

Even Mg tries although she also loves to run around and chase them with cute commentary of "go" or "oh oh" and lots of squealing!!!

Activity Number 2: Lego Star Wars

Yes, the computer game. It is a 2 player game and the big girls REALLY look forward to their turn to play with Daddy on Saturday afternoons. They really get into it. However, at the 4th of July parade in Lehi E got REALLY excited when she noticed a "Star Wars" float coming and then even more excited when she saw the live storm troopers...until she realized the storm troopers were bad and coming towards HER!!!!! She quickly hid behind me and I had to DRAG her out to see princess lea!!! :)

Even Mg enjoys some lap time :)
And of course there are the bike rides to the park to see the jack rabbits and new playgrounds...

And Daddy really becomes the hero when he helps feed the preying mantis pets in the backyard. The girls love to go to the park with mommy to catch flies and moths but the other day we went and got baby crickets for them (which mommy was not going to touch) so the hero came home and helped give their pets some food...

Yes, Mg is in her princess dress. Bugs and princess dresses work well together, don't you think?

As you can see, Daddy is the hero of our home and is loved by all his girls and even finds ways to play with them that keeps everyone happy (he hasn't even been subjected to makeup yet!)
And to end here are a couple cute pictures of Mg

She loves to ride her new bike like a big girl - especially going down the little hill. She squeals and yells "hang on!" or "whee"
She also loves to dress up and to play with babies - here she is sitting in Grandpa Ahlstrom's rocking chair he had as a little boy!
Sorry for the crazy long post but hope you enjoyed!

Joining the blogging world

I did it! That was easy! This seemed like an easy way to share all of the pictures I've been taking with our new camera. With a new place to live, fun things to do this summer and a new baby about to arrive I thought now was a good time to get this going...hope you enjoy!
