Park time

We took a long bike ride to check out M's new bike and went to this small random neighborhood playground and had some fun...E's trying out the different swing...

Mg found places to taunt Daddy..."Niener neiner neiner"M tried out the different monkey bars...
"Help me Daddy!"
And E had fun spinning around and around!
(and A found the bag of chocolates in the bike trailer and stayed there most of the time...see previous post!!)

New bikes!!

We found a new bike for M a few months ago but needed to fix it up...new inner tubes, a new seat, etc. Last Saturday Daddy fixed it up while M had fun cleaning it...I still can't believe she's gotten so big!
Then it was time for a test drive...to the park of course!
We loaded up the smaller ones so we could go on a nice long ride...
And raised the seat and handlebars to E's bike and off we went!!!
Mg was the official treat protector...
And had lots of fun dispensing the chocolate...
And a cute little one found the chocolate bag in the bike trailer while we played at the park and was very happy :)
We had a wonderful bike ride and Daddy displayed his manly skills fixing the chain that came off of M's bike...yea Daddy!

Valentine's Day

Daddy and I went to a semi-formal church Valentine's dance on Friday. The kids asked me what I was going to wear and I told them I borrowed a dress from a friend. They asked me what it looked like and I said "all black." There was a moment pause and then I heard "That's boring" and "Are you serious?" I laughed and told them one day they would appreciate an all black dress :) Anyways, the next day they wanted to know about the dance and after dinner Daddy had on some music to do dishes by and the girls dressed up and started dancing...
Obviously Mg's doll didn't hear about the dress code :)

It was SO cute...little A saw everyone dancing and grabbed Mg's new doll that was all dressed up and started dancing!!! It made my night to see her spinning around like her sisters!!!
Eventually I couldn't handle the romantic music and drug Daddy away from the dishes (boy does THAT sound odd!!) and we started dancing to the slow songs and then the girls decided to cut in...
There was lots of spinning and giggles...
I told M that it was Mg's turn and Mg walked up to Daddy, did an adorable curtsie and asked "May I have this dance?" IT WAS SO CUTE!!!! To which Daddy replied, But of course and away they danced!

Sweet E had a little too much spinning early on in the evening and got hit by an out of control doll and watched most of the evening's events with her partner on the couch but we did get her to dance with Daddy for a little bit!
Later Daddy and I played the Wii with another friend and had a great time...I even won some so life was good! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Having Fun

Here are a few random pictures from the last few weeks...

Don't all kids play with legos in their best dress up clothes!!! They played for SO LONG with these!!!
When we went to Disneyland a year ago Daddy fulfilled a childhood dream of having a cool light saber. He's been using various toys as a second light saber to have battles with the kids so for Christmas we got him a second, less fancy but still cool light saber :)
Mg cut off both of Daddy's legs so he's now on the ground :)

All the girls had the same cold on the same day last week so we had a fun Valentine card making party and sent them off to their great grandparents...it was fun!

Spirit Week

The girls totally got into Spirit Week at their school a few weeks ago (yes, playing catchup, again). One day was "favorite movie character" so M was Strawberry Shortcake (complete with strawberries on her hat and necklace)

and E was Thumbelina (with daisies in her hair)Maybe not their favorite character but it was an outfit we could come up with :)

Then there was crazy hair day...there were LOTS of giggles in our house that morning!!!!

And finally there was twin day...

I'm so proud!!

Mg and E really enjoy scrapbooking with me and so there are a lot more completed pages in their scrapbook. However M doesn't care too much for it. It occurred to me the other day that she really enjoys computer stuff so this afternoon I taught her how to use Photoshop Elements and this is her first digital scrapbook page!

She had a great time making it and was so happy when she got to print it out! That's my girl!! I have a family album that is 12x12 and then each of the kids have an 8 1/2 x 11 binder with their pictures in it that they get to help make...I finally figured out that the best way is for me to put all the pictures in order in sheet protectors and pick out the paper for it and then they get to help cut and glue (their favorite part) and pick and place the stickers and I go back later and do the writing. It's become a fun activity we enjoy doing together...hooray!! I'll still never be "caught up" but at least we've got some done and had a good time together doing it :) Now I just need to STOP doing it long enough to update my blog with some current pictures...last night's Valentine's dance with the kids produced some great pictures! Stay tuned!!!

Excuses?

No, I don't really have an excuse for not blogging lately. I hestitantly tried out facebook...still don't know why but it was fun to see what high school friends are up to. We've thoroughly enjoyed the California sunshine and near 70 degree weather with lots of outdoor time and a double decker bus ride. Now we're busy with playdates and playing with our games and such as we deal with some much needed rain. Oh yea, and I've been busy cleaning out the house...ALMOST DONE!! In the process of cleaning out I've been hunting down a lost library book. Turns out we turned the book in, they just missed it. :) And I've got a new obsession...digital scrapbooking. Actually, it's not new. I've enjoyed it in the past but never really had an affordable option for printing it out and I've got SO many scrapbooking supplies to use up it didn't make sense. However with a new place to print and the discovery of lots of free scrapbooking kits and templates to use I'm up and going again with the hope of maybe getting some of the family album caught up :) Here's my first page finished in about 1/2 hour...it's from 2007 :) Enjoy...and hopefully soon I'll get some new pictures up...and some updated links including my newfound scrapbook ones for those interested to enjoy! (THANKS BRITANY FOR TEACHING ME PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS!!)

"I Feel Good (na na na na na na na!"

The upstairs is cleaned out and up!! All corners cleaned out, all furniture pulled out and hidden treasures cleaned up, all clothing sorted and boxed, and it feels good! I've been working for the last week to clean out every box, clothes drawer, closet, etc. This is not easy when there are cute little helpers to mix your piles up!! I've been anxious to clean things out so that eventually when we move we just have to throw it into boxes and not have to sort through stuff. We delivered 6 boxes worth of stuff to DI this morning and countless bags of trash have made it out of the house throughout the week (it is AMAZING HOW many papers come home from school and end up in a sort pile!). It is SO much easier to clean out when you think "do I want to move this" and it's even easier when you think "do I want to store this" since most of our stuff will (hopefully!) go into storage for the summer. Really, I don't need most of my college notes (no matter HOW good the class was) and I'm sorry but I will never be a size 5 or even 8 again..hips don't shrink. Sigh. And those clothes that have made it through 4 kids and LOOK like it really shouldn't even be donated and those clothes that we have but the kids just didn't wear for whatever can be loved by someone else. Tonight Daddy helped me finish condensing boxes (I only wanted one box for 2T clothes instead of 2) and got them all nicely packed away into the closet and then I vacummed and surveyed my work and man do I feel GOOD!!!! (Okay, I'm sore from playing soccer today, but happy with my work). Now, onto the downstairs!! :)

Preschool!!

We had preschool at our house last week...we're doing a water unit so we were "water scientists" and did lots of water experiments...we had lots of fun!!!

Which will float/sink, how can we move water, all sorts of good stuff! (and yes, money CAN float, although only 3 quarters survived the paper muffin holder!!)
They had SO much fun...and amazingly we didn't have any major spills!I think their favorite was moving water with medicine droppers...we almost ran out of time to do the other fun preschool tasks of the day!!

Okay, so we got a little wet :) Everyone went home dry!!!
And yes, Ashley, we still miss you! I'm VERY proud of my water scientists!!!
